I found information on Bristol Tramways on the Western Power Electricity Historical Society website and contacted the secretary for further resources on the tram line locations. He responded with contact details for an expert on the tram system and details of a book he wrote on the subject which I managed to get hold of.

I spoke to local author Maurice Fells about my brief and he mentioned that there is an original tram on display at the Aerospace Museum in Filton. I thought it would be good to see one in the original colours so visited the museum and took some photos. It was one of the early horse driven trams so was not quite what I expected but it was valuable for my research. I was surprised at how tall the carriages were, especially with seats on the top and they were pulled by a single horse!

Useful image of tram from top. Also confirms Tramway Centre brand colours which I plan to emulate.

30th April
Yesterday I went to visit the Clifton Rocks Railway which was open to the public (twice a year). I found out lots of information about the furnicular railway- how it was used, why it was used and how much effort when into restoring it. The tunnels are currently shut due to health and safety reasons with the owners of the hotel next door, but there was plenty to see.
I met Peter Davey, the writer of the Bristol Tramway's book, and discussed my project. He had seen my email to him with the network map and liked the fact I used modern names for the lines, such as the Banksy line. He also said to call him should I require further information as he wasn't too fond of email!
